AQUA FLOORING
Richwood Aqua flooring provides the appearance of a true wood floor without fear of damage or staining due to water and moisture. Waterproof laminate flooring is an updated version of the popular wood-based composite flooring that is now resistant to water damage. The laminate flooring provides a realistic look comparable to real wood. People love affordable laminate flooring, but its water resistance is never known.
Traditionally, laminate flooring is prone to water absorption and swelling. But Richwood innovation changed all that.
  • Waterproof Seal
The surface has a waterproof seal to prevent spillage and moisture from entering the core.
  • Watertight Joints
Each board is tightly locked together to prevent water infiltration. Some aqua flooring features a bevel wrapped around the edge of the board to provide better moisture protection at the joints.
  • Water-resistant core
The core layer is made of high density fiberboard (HDF) and resin. This makes it less expand and ensures better water resistance.
Why Aqua Flooring?
Waterproof flooring typically lasts longer than regular flooring, because it is less likely to age from moisture. Even if you aren’t worried about water damage in the bathroom, water can still seep through your floors, whether it be from a spill or simply the moisture from your shower. It is good practice to open the window and or turn on the fan when showering and bathing in the tub.
Water Resistant Laminate
VS
Aqua Flooring
Some brands will use the term “water-resistant” to describe their products while others will say “waterproof”, so what’s the difference?
Water Resistance
This means that an element of the floor is designed to be better waterproof than normal. This usually means that you can put some water on the surface before the water soaks. If you cannot solve the overflow problem immediately, waterproof laminate flooring will give you some time.

When you’re deciding what type of flooring to get, you need to consider several options. Laminate flooring has many advantages, but so do Aqua flooring options. Knowing these differences are will be helpful for customers to save time and money. A water-resistant floor refers to how flooring material protects flooring substrate from water infiltration. One point to keep in mind about water-resistant flooring is the time you can allow water to sit on top of the floor. This typically means that you can have some water on the surface for a while before it soaks through. If you can’t get to a spill right away, water-resistant laminate floors will buy you some time. The Aqua flooring's waterproof design is what really makes it stand out, while traditional laminate floors are water-resistant.

Lots of waterproof flooring also withholds other extreme conditions, like direct heat and extreme cold. When temperatures fluctuate, flooring expands and contracts. Using a flooring that can handle those extremes is a must, especially when living in hotter areas across Australia.
