Pay attention to the gaps between the floors

After the workers have finished laying the floor, we also have to check the corner of the room: whether the floor is up, whether the laying is flat and whether the gaps between the floor are even. And we can step on the floor barefoot to see if there’s a big dent on it. If there’s a relatively large dent on it, it means that the keel under this floor is not properly laid. At that time, we must remember to let the decorator rework it again.

Each door of our room is a joint of laminate floor. After the laying is completed, we should check this place to see whether the gaps between the top profiles is even. In general, the gap about 30 mms between the profiles is good. And we should also check whether the molding is firmly installed.

Look at the floor surface

Be sure to tell the decorator that the keel of the floor must do insect-proof treatment before laying the flooring. If the insect-proof treatment is not done, some moths may breed in the later stage, which will affect the service life of the floor. In addition, we also need to look at the surface of the floor to see if there are any scratches. Generally speaking, the floor surface has a certain degree of wear resistance, we must check the floor surface carefully. If there are scratches, we must let decorator replace it in a timely manner.
